Enjoyable couple of days spent at this hotel with friends last weekend, the staff are very friendly, especially the breakfast chef.
Nice basic rooms, it's good value for the money.

Spent the night here with my husband and friend, 2 double rooms were booked and on arrival myself/husband had been upgraded to what I can only describe as an apartment, modern and very clean, bed was so comfortable and when you thought it couldn’t get any better breakfast next morning was outstanding with good quality products used!
Only downside was the noise from the pub downstairs but once windows were closed you couldn’t hear anything.
Will definitely stay here again.

Had many a good night in the star hotel when I was staying there while working in Montrose.
Nice pub for a couple a pints after work.
Rooms are ok and are always clean but TV is very small.
Staff are friendly and always help full so there is definitely 5 stars for the star staff.

Only Tennant's on offer on Sunday of mo fest 2024 same as last year ??? Was told can't please everyone, sorry but if I go to a bar and expectation of a selection of beers is what you expect

Più che un Hotel è un B&B. È situato nel centro di Montrose ed è comodissimo ai servizi della cittadina. Purtroppo non c'è ne l'ascensore ne il ristorante al suo interno. Le camere sono semplici ma pulite. Per chi deve lavorare al porto è molto comodo.

Great friendly human staff, rock and roll vibe and great party vibe on Saturdays with resident DJ. Is located in town 5 minutes from everything. As the building is old there is no elevator access for wheel chairs.

Neat hotel with great staffs. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you want to stay close to the train station.

Posto molto pratico, gestito da persone gentilissime sopra al pub. Se avete il sonno leggero il sabato sera potreste avere qualche problema. L'edificio è vecchio e ristrutturato "all'inglese", ovvero totalmente illegale se fosse in Italia. Ma non fraintendetemi, lo consiglierei comunque per posizione e gentilezza dello staff.

Jumped in the car to follow the sunshine so not planned, called up and Ben was great sorted us out a nice room for the night very clean has everything you need and the bar was very friendly, loved the area will defiantly be back

Staff were all very polite and helpful. I left the hotel at 08:00 and no taxis were available at the owner interrupted his breakfast service to drive me to the Port. This was totally unnecessary and very much appreciated! Thank-you!

Needed a place to stay overnight whilst travelling through. The Star was a great choice. Friendly amenable staff, clean room, clean bed linen, clean bathroom, and I slept like a log. Sadly didn't get a chance to enjoy the bar downstairs. Its positioned just off the main drag of Montrose, and about 5 minutes walk from Montrose Railway Station. Very convenient for bus or rail travel, and near all the shops, with a cashpoint 50 yards round the corner. Dave introduced himself on my arrival, was very friendly and helpful, gave me some local information and did everything he could to make my stay pleasant and enjoyable. It would definitely be my first choice if I stay in Montrose again. I highly recommend the place.

Room was clean good breakfast staff where friendly especially Kay she was lovely I think David should give her a bonus for all her hard work at the weekend . We would definitely stay again.
